(Quraan Series - Part 3)

Fadhlul Haq, who was the minister of Bengal and Calcutta on behalf of the Muslim League, once needed to travel from Delhi to Calcutta. To make the journey, he decided to buy a first-class train ticket.

After boarding the train, he asked his attendant “Where is my Quraan Majeed? Is it aboard the train?” The attendant replied, “All the luggage has not yet been loaded into the carriage, and the box in which we packed the Quraan Majeed still needs to be loaded. I will bring it immediately.” When he heard this, Fadhlul Haq immediately said, “I have told you, on multiple occasions, to ensure that the Quraan Majeed comes into the carriage first. Unload whatever luggage has already been loaded, we will take the next train and ensure that the Quraan Majeed goes into the carriage first.” Saying this, Fadhlul Haq exited the carriage and left the train.

Miraculous Cure of the Quraan Majeed

(Quraan Series - Part 1)

A woman named ‘Aaishah, from Pakistan, relates the following experience:

I was once busy reciting the Quraan Majeed, as was my habit, when my eldest son, Shafee’, who was approximately six years old at the time, emerged from the house to play outside. We are still unsure as to exactly how it happened, but he somehow closed the door of the car on his finger! His hand was injured so badly that his third finger was almost totally separated from his right hand. The finger just managed to remain attached to his hand by a thin strip of skin.

I was seated in our home, reciting Surah Ar-Rahmaan, and remained oblivious to what had transpired. My husband, on seeing our son injured, did not wait to inform me of what had happened but instead instantly bundled him into the car and raced off to the nearest doctor. On arriving at the doctor’s surgery, the doctor urged him to rush Shafee’ to the Civil Hospital.

Ramadhaan is Here

Tuesday, 07 June 2016 07:25

Ramadhaan is a month of devoting oneself to the worship of Allah Ta‘ala more than at any other time. It is a time of charging the batteries of imaan to a peak. It is a time to develop the noble qualities of patience and kindness towards one’s fellow beings. Ramadhaan is a gift to cherish, a treasure to value and an absolute boon and blessing to the Ummah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam).

In order to make the best of this month, one should make a proper programme as to how one will spend this month. There will be those fortunate ones who will manage to free themselves from all worldly activities and devote the entire month of Ramadhaan for deen. Such people should be extremely grateful to Allah Ta‘ala for this favour and hence they should make the best use of every moment. Many others will not have the same opportunity. Nevertheless, they too can use every moment fruitfully.

Hey! Who Am I Really? (Part Three)

Monday, 18 April 2016 16:13

Many questions have been received with regard to a recently published book titled “Hey! Who Am I Really?” Since many aspects in the book deal with fundamental beliefs, it was deemed necessary to explain the issues in detail in their proper perspective. The explanation will insha Allah be done in several parts.

This is Part Three of the series.

Tawheed and Risaalaah

(The Oneness of Allah Ta‘ala and Messengership of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)

When a child is born, among the first rites is to call out the azaan in his ear, as established from the practice of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) (Sunan Tirmizi #1514). Together with expressing the greatness of Allah Ta‘ala, the azaan consists of two fundamental declarations – tawheed and risaalah. First, the declaration of tawheed is called out: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ (I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah). Immediately thereafter follows the declaration of risaalah: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (I bear witness that Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) is the messenger of Allah.)  The azaan will not be fulfilled without this declaration.
