Q: A buzurg said that he does not resent the ta`ziyah but he prevents others from participating in it. Those who participate in the ta`ziyah do so out of their love for Hadhrat Husain r.a. Who knows that perhaps their love for him will be a means of benefit for them on the Day of Qiyamah?

A: Whoever taught i`shq also showed the method of acquiring it and it was not from himself. True i`shq is in following the sunnat of Rasulullah sallalahu `alayhi wasallam. Nabi sallalahu `alayhi wasallam had once appointed a sahabi as the governor of an area. Nabi sallalahu `alayhi wasallam asked him to mount his conveyance whilst he (Nabi sallalahu `alayhi wasallam) walked at his side advising him. Reflect over this. Nabi sallalahu `alayhi wasallam was walking and this sahabi was mounted on his conveyance. By this sahabi remaining mounted on the conveyance, does it mean that he was void of humility and modesty? He had done as was instructed by Nabi sallalahu `alayhi wasallam. This is the formula (for i`shq) that one should do in the manner he is instructed to do.
