Conqueror of Iran

PrintE-mail

The conqueror of Iran is Hadhrat Umar r.a himself. The conquest of Iran had taken place during his reign of khilafat. Therefore the extent of hatred that the Iranians have for Umar is understandable. They were originally fire worshippers. After jihad was waged against them, the opportunity to reform them did not arise and they therefore remained deficient. Neither did they become Arabs nor Persians nor Turks.

Another noteworthy point is that the closest neighbouring land to Arabia is Persia. Allah mentions in the Qur'an:

قاتلوا الذين يلونكم من الكفار
Fight against the kuffar who are close to you. [9: 123].

This verse holds true for the Persians. In another verse Allah says:

اولى بأس شديد تقاتلونهم او يسلمون
You will be called to fight a people who are very fierce fighters. You wil either fight them or they will come to you in submission. [48: 16]
This verse refers to them as well.
