Sending durood upon the name of someone other than the Prophet r

It is incorrect to send durood verbally or in writing upon the name or part of the name of someone whose name is Muhammad or Ahmad. The reason is that durood is exclusive for Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the name Muhammad in such a case does not refer to Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Hence, it will result in one’s sending durood to someone other than Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). (Alamgiri, vol 5, pg 315)
