{"id":12338,"date":"2015-11-30T04:58:03","date_gmt":"2015-11-30T04:58:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alhaadi.org.za\/new\/?p=12338"},"modified":"2018-02-05T05:05:59","modified_gmt":"2018-02-05T05:05:59","slug":"disrespecting-the-ulama-due-to-their-differences-is-to-ones-own-detriment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alhaadi.org.za\/?p=12338","title":{"rendered":"Disrespecting the Ulama due to their Differences is to one\u2019s own Detriment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hadhrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0says: \u201cA very important issue is that the differences of the<em>fuqahaa<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>muhadditheen<\/em>\u00a0are in its place. However, because of this we should never entertain evil thoughts regarding them or display any type of disrespect. This is extremely detrimental. I emphasise and stress on this point in my lessons of\u00a0<em>hadeeth<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once, during the lessons of\u00a0<em>hadeeth<\/em>\u00a0of Hadhrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>, a\u00a0<em>hadeeth<\/em>\u00a0which apparently opposed the Hanafi view was discussed. Upon hearing the brilliant explanation delivered by Hadhrat Moulana Gangohi\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>, one of the students exclaimed: \u2018If Imaam Shaafi`ee\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0had heard this explanation, he would have retracted from his view.\u2019 Hadhrat\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0responded: \u2018<em>Toubah<\/em>,\u00a0<em>toubah<\/em>,\u00a0<em>astaghfirullah<\/em>! If Imaam Shaafi`ee\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0had been present then my explanation would not have been anything more than a simple doubt which Imaam Shaafi`ee\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0would have answered. Since the\u00a0<em>a\u2019immah-e-mujtahideen<\/em>\u00a0are not present, it is only their statements that are before us and we find the statements of Imaam Abu Hanifah\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0to be closest to the Qur\u2019aan and\u00a0<em>Hadeeth<\/em>. Therefore, we support it. Otherwise, if supposing any of the\u00a0<em>a\u2019immah-e-mujtahideen<\/em>\u00a0were present now, there would have been no other option but to follow him.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let alone showing disrespect and having ill-feelings for the\u00a0<em>Ulama<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>a\u2019immah-e-mujtahideen<\/em>, even disrespecting a normal person or\u00a0<em>Muslim<\/em>\u00a0and having ill-feelings for him is not permissible under any circumstances. Allah Ta`ala forbid, if one disrespects any of these seniors then remember that one will lose everything.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0In the time of Hadhrat Moulana Madani\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0and Hadhrat Moulana Thanwi\u00a0<em>rahmatullahi alaih<\/em>\u00a0many people made lot of noise. Juniors generally have the tendency of objecting and declaring others as\u00a0<em>kaafir<\/em>. Refrain from all these aspects and focus on your own work. There are many incidents regarding the differences of the pious which I cannot recall now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have heard regarding our elders that people would accept\u00a0<em>Islam<\/em>\u00a0merely by seeing their appearances and ways.
