{"id":18094,"date":"2019-05-15T05:56:53","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T05:56:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alhaadi.org.za\/new\/?p=18094"},"modified":"2019-07-08T06:37:31","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T06:37:31","slug":"surah-mulk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alhaadi.org.za\/?p=18094","title":{"rendered":"Surah Mulk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>(Four Surahs\u2019 Series \u2013 Part Two)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Surah Mulk, commonly known by many as Surah Tabaarak, is the first surah of the twenty-ninth juz (para) of the Quraan Majeed. It is just less than three and a half pages in length.\u00a0Accordingly, its daily recitation and even its memorization are extremely easy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As with Surah Yaseen, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) mentioned regarding Surah Mulk,\u00a0\u201cI certainly wish that it (Surah Mulk) be in the heart of every individual of my Ummah.\u201d\u00a0<em>(Tabraani \u2013 Majma\u2018uz Zawaaid #11477)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The importance of this surah can also be gauged by the fact that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) would recite it every night.\u00a0<em>(Sunan Tirmizi #2892)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of the special virtues and benefits of reciting Surah Mulk are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Protection from the Punishment of the Grave:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sayyiduna Ibnu \u2018Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that on one occasion, a Sahaabi of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) pitched his tent somewhere without realizing that he had pitched his tent on a grave.\u00a0After erecting his tent, he suddenly heard, from the ground, the voice of a person reciting the entire Surah Mulk.\u00a0The Sahaabi then went to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and explained what he had witnessed. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) remarked,\u00a0\u201cIt (Surah Mulk) is the surah that protects and the surah that saves \u2013 it saves the reciter from the punishment of the grave.\u201d\u00a0<em>(Sunan Tirmizi #2890)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sayyiduna \u2018Abdullah bin Mas\u2018ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that in the blessed era of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), we (the Sahaabah [radhiyallahu \u2018anhum])\u00a0would refer to Surah Mulk as \u201cAl-Maani\u2018ah\u201d (that which protects from the punishment in the grave).\u00a0Sayyiduna \u2018Abdullah bin Mas\u2018ood (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) also mentioned that Surah Mulk is such a great surah that the one who recites it in the night has indeed done a lot and has done very well.\u00a0<em>(Tabraani &#8211; Majma\u2018uz Zawaa\u2019id #11479)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Intercession for Forgiveness:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) mentioned, \u201cIndeed there is a great surah of the Quraan Majeed which consists of thirty verses.\u00a0It will intercede for a person (who recites it punctually) until he gains forgiveness.\u00a0This surah is Surah Tabaarak.\u201d\u00a0<em>(Sunan Tirmizi #2891)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the above ahaadeeth, we understand that we should all make it a point to recite Surah Mulk every night.
