On one occasion, during the season of summer, the gardener of Sayyiduna Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) came to him and complained that the orchard was in need of water (as they had not experienced rainfall for some time).<\/p>\n
On hearing the concern of the gardener, Sayyiduna Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) asked for some water, made wudhu and then performed salaah and made du\u2018aa to Allah Ta\u2018ala (for rain). He then asked the gardener, \u201cCan you see anything (i.e. rain)?\u201d The gardener replied, \u201cNo, I cannot see anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sayyiduna Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) then continued to performed more salaah, until finally, when he completed the third or fourth set of salaahs, he said to the gardener, \u201c(Go and) look.\u201d The gardener now said, \u201cI can see a few clouds resembling the wing of a bird.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hearing this, Sayyiduna Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) re-engaged in salaah and continued to make du\u2018aa, until finally, the caretaker of the orchard came to him and said, \u201cThe sky is filled with clouds and it is raining.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sayyiduna Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) instructed him saying, \u201cMount the horse which was sent by Bishr bin Shaghaaf and go to see how far the rain has reached.\u201d The caretaker mounted the horse, rode out, and found that the rain had not reached further than the fortresses of Musayyareen and the fortress of Ghadbaan (places that were close by. i.e. Allah Ta\u2018ala had accepted the du\u2018aa of Sayyiduna Anas [radhiyallahu \u2018anhu] and had sent this rain specifically for his orchard).<\/p>\n
(Tabaqaat Ibni Sa\u2019d vol. 7, pg. 21)<\/em><\/p>\n Lesson:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) understood that the answer to every problem is to perform salaah and turn to Allah Ta\u2018ala in du\u2018aa. Furthermore, they did not make du\u2018aa once or twice and then stop. Rather, they continued to beg Allah Ta\u2018ala until their du\u2018aa was answered.<\/p>\n
