Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatullahi \u2018alaih) once mentioned the following:<\/p>\n
Muraaqabah-e-Du\u2018aaiyyah refers to where one, while remaining silent, closes his eyes, and turns his attention to his heart and begins making du\u2018aa with his heart i.e. one does not make a verbal du\u2018aa with one\u2019s tongue. While making du\u2018aa with one\u2019s heart, one may make du\u2018aa for his Deen, his dunya, and for whatever needs one has.<\/p>\n
However, one should also remember to include the Ummah of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) in one\u2019s du\u2018aa by asking Allah Ta\u2018ala to bring favourable and good conditions upon the Ummah and grant them success.<\/p>\n
On account of the Ummah being linked to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), when one includes the Ummah in one\u2019s du\u2018aa, then this will be a means for one\u2019s du\u2018aas gaining acceptance by Allah Ta\u2018ala.<\/p>\n
Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Just as it is permissible to make du\u2018aa verbally, it is also permissible to make du\u2018aa in one\u2019s heart, as mentioned above by Hazrat Shaikhul Hadith Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatullahi \u2018alaih). However, it should be borne in mind that on those occasions where it is established that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) made a verbal du\u2018aa (e.g. after salaah, after the azaan, after eating, etc.) then one should recite these masnoon du\u2018aas verbally in order to practise upon the sunnah. Nevertheless, at other times, one can make du\u2018aa to Allah Ta\u2018ala verbally or in one\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n
