Hazrat Moulana Ashraf Ali Thaanwi (rahimahullah) once mentioned the following:<\/p>\n
In today\u2019s times, many people rely only on wazeefahs to remove their problems, rather than them adopting the actual solution \u2013 which is turning to Allah Ta\u2018ala in sincere du\u2018aa. Du\u2018aa is the soul and essence of all \u2018ibaadaat (and the means to solve all problems).<\/p>\n
I wish to explain an important point. When a person recites a wazeefah with the aim of fulfilling some need, then a sense of confidence is created within his heart and he begins to feel that since we have adopted this means to solve the problem, we have control over the situation and positive results should be forthcoming.<\/p>\n
On the contrary, when one turns to Allah Ta\u2018ala in sincere du\u2018aa and begs Him to remove one\u2019s difficulty, then through du\u2018aa, one\u2019s heart is overwhelmed with the feeling of \u2018abdiyyat (being a slave of Allah Ta\u2018ala and completely in need of Him). One feels to himself that we are placing our needs before Allah Ta\u2018ala and begging of Him (and it is only Him upon whom we can rely for our needs to be fulfilled). If He so wills, he will grant us what we are asking for and fulfil our needs.\u00a0 Hence, du\u2018aa is the most important thing (in seeking Allah Ta\u2018ala\u2019s assistance and help).<\/p>\n
