Hazrat Moulana Muhammad Ilyaas (rahmatullahi ‘alaih) once mentioned the following:

Those involved in the effort of da’wat and tableegh, when engaging in the effort, they should keep before them the great rewards and bounties that have been promised in the Quraan and hadeeth for all those who engage in the effort of da’wat and tableegh. Similarly, they should have complete conviction and yaqeen that they will receive these great rewards promised for doing the work, and when carrying out the effort, they should do so with the true enthusiasm and desire of acquiring these great rewards.

Furthermore, they should also keep the following thought in mind: “Whatever weak and broken effort we are making, if Allah Ta‘ala accepts our effort and makes it a means for people coming onto Deen, then until the Day of Qiyaamah, all those who Allah Ta‘ala brings onto Deen as a result of our effort, as long as these people continue to carry out good deeds, then all the reward that they will receive for their good deeds – it is the promise of Allah Ta‘ala that He will also grant us their full reward, on condition that we do the effort with complete ikhlaas (sincerity), and carry out the work in conformity to that which is pleasing to Allah Ta‘ala.”
