Having a Muslim name is easy, and looking like a Muslim is simple. However the challenge of the time is to have a Muslim mind and heart – a mind and heart that accepts the truth and rejects falsehood.
We should never lose our Muslim mind and heart, and adopt the mind and heart of some atheist, secularist or modernist. The sign of losing the Muslim heart is that when falsehood comes to one via the newspaper, internet or some deviated person, then it is wholeheartedly accepted and digested. However, when the truth comes to one via a sanad – an unbroken chain of transmission, starting from Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), through the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum), the Imaams of Fiqh, the Muhadditheen, the various scholars over the centuries, until finally through our ‘Ulama, then we object to it, doubt and question it and even reject it, Allah Ta‘ala forbid.
May Allah Ta‘ala keep us with a Muslim mind and heart and allow us to die with a Muslim mind and heart.
